TASTE IT LA: FOOD TRUCK-STOP
Wilshire Blvd @LACMA
Everyday around noon Wilshire Blvd kicks into full swing with their food-truck lineup in front of LACMA causing turtle traffic and a lunch panic for those with hourly time constraints. Passing through on my way from BH's (and after staring longingly at Red Medicine which doesn't open until 6pm,) I heard my tummy grumble. Foodie-truck time.

After browsing several options including The Grill Sergeant (Pastrami Melt mmm,) Veg It Up (sweet potato fries,) India Jones (Paratha,) AND having to steer clear of my go-to Cali Banh Mi truck I love so...

Mini sliders @ $3 each...a steal of a meal...
I ordered the "I Get a Kick Out of You" burger with provolone and jalapenos and realized suddenly the 40's big band music floating through the air was actually coming from the Patty Wagon's speaker on top of the truck. Nice touch. They were the only truck playing music, in a long line of trucks. The food itself seemed to draw a crowd but the music absolutely attributed to the communal atmosphere complete with wrought iron 'ironing board" tables and simple flower centerpieces, inviting the passing lunch crowd to stop for a sec and hang out.
Beware the lunch lines & parking is tricky; you might have to walk a block, but for so many lunch options in one place, its worth it!
Dessert from the Cool Haus Truck!
For once in my life there was no mile-long line @ Cool Haus!!!
My favorite roving freezer-truck of delicious dairy love, and just one person ahead of me!!! I was kind of mad after the Sprinkles vending machine debacle so I was happy to see a line-free dessert vendor ;)
Cool Haus Ice cream sandwich; Mint chocolate chip icecream made with fresh mint leaves between homemade chocolate chip cookies. Also try their Greek Yogurt with Berriers icecream, it's tart like PinkBerry but with better quality ingredients and it's much more refreshing.
Cant find the Cool Haus truck? Check them out at their Culver City location behind the Helms building or refer to their schedule here.
